We’ve made some healthy changes when it comes to our diet and we started with the most important meal of the day, breakfast. Some of you might already know that oatmeal is our go-to meal of choice when it comes to breakfast. It’s quick and easy and customizable, but the oatmeal we regularly make at home is not exactly all that healthy. We usually add brown sugar and vanilla extract. We did some research on a more nutritional breakfast and found Mylk Labs.
About Mylk Labs
Mylk Labs is an amazing company that sells grab and go oatmeal cups. They are all about healthy living and good food. Which is what we all want, right? We know we do. Their oatmeal is gluten-free, vegan, and there aren’t any refined sugars. All the ingredients in their oatmeals are completely organic and high quality. Also, they are non-GMO.
About the Founder
Mylk Labs was founded by USC Alumna and model Grace Cheng in 2017. Grace Cheng has a passion for a healthy lifestyle and is committed to sharing food that is nutritious and fuels the body but without compromising flavor and convenience.
One of the things that drew us to Mylk Labs was their message/purpose “At the end of the day, Mylk Labs strives to create more than convenient, wholesome food. We strive to create a community of healthy, self-empowered individuals who are able to fuel their day and embark upon many new adventures with bursting energy and good health.”
We found this message powerful because even the smallest change, can change, your whole lifestyle. That’s what we’re striving for. We love food that gives us energy and gets us ready for the day. We are planning on adding more healthy recipes (don’t worry we will still be putting out dessert recipes) here on our blog. But because we do make a lot of sweets we want to make a few healthy changes here and there. For our desserts, we want to create more recipes that use natural sugars and organic ingredients.
We are applying the whole 80/20 rule in our lifestyle because we know that is going to make our goal much easier. We eat a lot of sugar because we do bake a lot we want to try to incorporate some healthy options into our diet.
A little more information about Mylk Labs oatmeal:

Ready to dive into the recipe?
The ingredients you will need for today are fresh cherries (NOT maraschino cherries), sliced almonds, and Mylk Labs Roasted Almond & Himalayan Pink Salt oatmeal. Please feel free to choose any of their oatmeal flavors, this flavor was our favorite kind for this recipe.
Now for the easy part. Grab the oatmeal of choice, shake it up, remove the film, add some boiling water (we don’t have a measurement for this because it’s a personal preference how moist you like your oatmeal), put the lid back on and let it steep for 3 minutes and tada your oatmeal is done. All we need is the toppings.
Chop up some cherries (be sure to remove the pits), grab your sliced almonds and top off the oatmeal. All done! How easy was that? That took no time at all and now you have a great nutritional breakfast option when you don’t have a lot of time and need to head out the door.
Other Combinations We Enjoy!
- Toasted Coconut & Cassia Cinnamon with pineapple and macadamia nuts.
- Roasted Hazelnut & Dominica Cacao with dried cherries and dark chocolate.
- Roasted Almond & Pink Himalayan Salt with raspberries.
We hope you enjoyed this recipe!
