In a small saucepan over medium heat add the sugar.
Stir until it begins to melt and turns brown with no lumps**Make sure to keep a close eye on it as it will burn easily.
Add the butter and stir in until melted.
Slowly a little at a time add the heavy cream, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and add the pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
Stir until combined and smooth.
Allow it to come to room temperature for about 10 minutes.
In a mug add 2-3 tablespoons of the pumpkin spice caramel sauce.
Add one shot of espresso or strong hot coffee to the mug, stir together.
Using a frother add 1 cup of milk and froth it according to manufacture instructions.
Not using a frother: Add 1 cup of warm milk to a mason jar with a lid. Shake for 1-2 minutes.**It may be hot so use a towel and make sure it does not slip.Or in a small saucepan add 1 cup of milk over medium-low heat. Whisk vigorously until frothy.
Add milk to the mug
Add a sprinkle of pumpkin spice on top or a drizzle of the pumpkin spice caramel.
